The road on Whittycroft Avenue, Higherford, is sinking. The surface is breaking up all along the road., 31st July
The road consists only of a layer of hardcore and a shallow overlay of tarmac. Parts of the road are now sinking and breaking up. There is a bouncing effect when traffic goes over the sunken areas. The problem was exacerbated some years ago when Gisburn Road was closed as a result of work on gas piping and water mains and for three weeks all the traffic from the M65 travelling through the area was diverted to this already fragile road.

There are many potholes of considerable depths along the whole length of Beverley Rd from its junction with Gisburn Rd to the Cross Gaits Inn. This roar is used many times daily by parents taking their children to/from Blacko School. Imagine the consequences if a cyclist hit a pothole, fell off into the path of an oncoming vehicle, which swerved to avoid him and hit parents and children.

Huge, deep pothole, 7th March
This is the damage the pothole did, I'll be claiming for the £56 for a new tyre, please advise how to do this, thus pothole is very deep and caused a massive 'bang' when I hit it, causing this damage to the wall of my near side front tyre
