Dangerous surface, numerous potholes and uneven carriage way, 22nd April
There are several very deep potholes and numerous other road defects on the stretch of the A56 from Haslingden to Rising Bridge. It is difficult to pinpoint just one location as much of the carriageway s unsafe. I have had reports made to me regarding tyres being damaged, cars swerving and very near misses. Can this entire section be reviewed please? This issue has been reported before. i can see on your reporting tool reports from Feb. Please let me know when we will see work done.

Standing water, 20th December
On this stretch of the a56 northbound there is always standing water when it rains. In icy weather it’s black or thick ice. I’ve lived overlooking the bypass for 25 years and I’ve seen so many accidents here over those years. The road sign/barrier are both totally battered from all the crashes. I’ve reported it before. There’s another bad accident there today 20th December 2023. When will something be done about it????

Flooding in three places!, 22nd November
X 3 locations where water is flooding across both southbound carriageways which doesn't clear even after dry weather. This will turn to ice during freezing weather and due to the high speeds vehicles travel is sure to cause countless accidents. More so during dark commuting mornings!. Mainly along the top high sections.

Very dangerous pothole, 31st March
I have reported this twice to Lancashire County Council but have been told today this is your dept. I have done some SERIOUS damage to my car which I will be putting a claim in for. On the A56 Accrington Bypass coming UP TO Rising Bridge roundabout; you have just passed Tesco which is on the right hand side and just before the first bridge there is a VERY DEEP AND DANGEROUS pothole in the middle of both lanes which is now spreading across. I went right over it, nearly caused a collision, my warning lights came on and I had to drive home with a flat tyre. My car needed re-aligning and was in the garage for THREE days and their words were ‘my car is in very bad condition’. I need to drive home that way as I live just off Rising Bridge roundabout and I need to try and find an alternative route (I don’t think there is one). I can’t drive round it slowly as it’s a dual carriageway so someone will go in the back of me and if I go over it again my car will be a right off. Please can it be taken care of as A MATTER OF URGENCY?
