FIXMYSTREET IN BB1 9JU
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BB1 9JU:
Extensive/expanding paving failure., 26th April
Substantial extent of full depth failure, including reflective cracking , joint degradation, channel collapse and gully-pot sinking. Hazards presented to 2 wheel users (distributor through residential area with appreciable levels of bicycle use by children, adults). Long term degradation, badly patched. Recently spraymarked location is embarriassingly inadequate - can only be for an emergency cutback and tamp "repair"? Quality patch repairs of much greater extent are required to even remotely mitigate residual safety risk. Potential for vehicle damage insurance claims is rising and not effectively mitigated.

Multiple waste tipping, 23rd March
Household waste, pieces of carpet and mixed litter thrown all over the road along a stretch of 30 yards approx. The photos were taken a few days ago at night time, but the waste has now settled at the road side. In a strong wind there is a potential for it to end up in the resovoir. Just A small van is required to clean up the waste but care should be taken on that stretch of road.

Five cars!, 17th March
16th March, 1500hrs - heading down the dual carriageway towards Brownhill, the traffic lights where only on green for a few seconds allowing about 5 cars through legally - many went through on red! This caused an unnecessary tailback on what is a major ring road. I have experienced this at other times too.
The sequence needs amending to: - allow longer for the dual carriageway - stop the service road going to green when nobody waiting - stop giving green to Emerald Avenue when nobody waiting.
Afterthought - is this sequence deliberate to slow down traffic approaching Brownhill and cause a tailback?

Neighbours friends parking on double yellow lines and corners causing obstructions everyday. Asked them not to but I just get abuse back., 9th March
A constant battle with neighbours friends and relatives parking on double yellow lines and corner of junction causing obstructions for other road users and pedestrians. This is usually outside my home and neighbours think it’s us. This has been on going now for 4 years and nothing has been done about it. They also park across my driveway on occasions.

Big and larger than life potholes all across the street including damage to public pathway, 4th February
These potholes have been here for over 18 months or longer and yet, the Blackburn council has not repaired or filled the pot holes. We have disabled family living in the street and they can't even park the car nearby due to the size of the holes and the damage causing vehicles. We re require this to be looked into asap and rectified or we will escalate the matter, and if necessary take legal action. However, possibly over 12months ago, they did have someone over in the area to fill these holes (possibly arranged by the council), they filled one hole but didn't do a good job and never came back to do the whole road.. UNACCEPTABLE!! we pay council taxes and this is the care we get.
