Series of potholes and road shoulder voids from Shaw Clough Farm to County Border, 26th February
The condition of this road has deteriorated yet further and is now in a state of danger. I (and others) have reported this repeatedly on this site and by letter to both the Chief Executive of Lancashire County Council and to the Head of Highways. To my amazement patch resurfacing has been carried out (early January) to the section between Long Lane and Shaw Cough Farm but this was not the worst section of the road. This suggests either deliberate tactics to frustrate road users or incompetence. Somebody has erected "Slow" signs in two locations in each direction before and half way through the effected portion so - road users - be warned! Safe speed is around 10 or 15 mph. Anything more you risk damage to your vehicle or ending up in the ditch.

Road surface very poor and hazardous from Shaw Clough Farm all the way to the County border: particularly bad in vicinity of Black Lane Ends Pub (Skipton Old Rd, Colne BB8 7EP)., 30th May
Road surface very poor and hazardous from Shaw Clough Farm all the way to the County border: particularly bad in vicinity of Black Lane Ends Pub (Skipton Old Rd, Colne BB8 7EP). Approximately 200 areas of significant surface deterioration and 16 separate areas where the edge of the carriageway has given way. The road was marked out for repairs at least 3 years ago but the work was never carried out. Lancashire Council seem unwilling to respond to repeated reports of this hazard.

Big pothole extending into the carriageway. It is just one of a series on this stretch, and is about 5 inches deep. If a large vehicle is going the other way at this point this pothole is unavoidable. It is just around the bend from Black Lane Ends pub, going north.

Road in a terrible state for over a mile, 23rd February
The road from Colne Golf club alomg Skipton Old Road to the border with North Yorks is in a dangerous state. There are too many deep potholes to mention, literally hundreds. The road is prone to flooding due to neglect in maintaining the drainage ditches by the side of the road. The area I have marked is particularly bad and needs to be totally resurfaced NOT patched up. This has been an on going problem for the 5 years I have been regularly travelling upon this stretch of road. In all this stretch of road is a disgrace to Lancashire County Council.
