Traffic lights A452 Chester Rd, 15th April

Mon, 15 Apr 2024 10:03:13 +0100
52.587329 -1.888019

TL sequence approaching from Brownhills on A452 going South. Needs a staggered Green signal so that Right turning traffic can do so safely and legally.. At the moment there is no time interval. North bound traffic needs to be halted to enable this to happen. So perhaps 2 minutes on green going North and 2 minutes 15/20 seconds going South/

FixMyStreet ref: 5125653. Photo of this reportzoom Dangerous potholes that are 50cm X 50cm and 20cm deep. Someone will be serious injured falling off their bike and this report will be the evidence the Birmingham City Council have been informed for the 7th time and choose not to undertake the necessary repairs to make the road safe. The cost of the repairs would be much cheaper than the costs of compensation and legal fees for the injury someone could sustain on these lethal potholes. 15+ potholes located within Sutton Park's access road from the B4138 Thornhill Road, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, towards the Jamboree Stone, which have already been reported on 29 July 2023 via fixmystreet, 01/04/23 via fixmystreet and 12/03/23 via fixmystreet, also on 16/01/23 under Wk/169425, on 24/10/22 under Wk/167991 and again on 09/06/22 under WK/162465 with the Parks Officers promising to look into and fix on each occasion. Each time filled in with loose dirt and gravel that washes out each time it rains. This is over a year of reporting this problem, now for the 6th time. Needs a proper repair with tarmac, not loose gravel. Will keep reporting each time it washes out so these defects are documented so BCC can't escape liability for any injury to any, runners, cyclists or damage to motorists vehicles. Several large holes between .5 and 1 metre, 1st December

Fri, 01 Dec 2023 11:11:56 +0000
52.579401 -1.869002

These potholes are near to the slight bend where the piles of sand, dirt and gravel are, and there are around 7 holes in the ten metre area which results in cars having to drive off road to avoid damage to tyres and suspension. There are several holes just before and also about 100 metres after. Tempted to shovel the sand into the holes as they have been this bad for about 6months now.

Cars parked on top end of Manor Road (both sides including pavements), 5th October

Thu, 05 Oct 2023 14:41:13 +0100
52.5781 -1.882878

Top end of Manor Road from corner of Thorney Road to Chester Road is absolute nightmare to drive through Mon-Friday (with all the cars parked on both sides of the Manor Road and very often half on the pavements). Residents do experience problems with reversing from own drives as the view is obstructed by parked cars (the cars don’t belong to residents of Manor Road but to employees of local businesses). During the school run times it’s almost impossible to revers onto own drive, bin collecting lorries, ambulances and other services are finding it difficult to manoeuvre through this road. Passing cars very often must mount the pavements to be able to drive through the obstructions on Manor Road through what causes the danger to any pedestrian and especially to children walking to and back from school. Manor Road is very often also speeding track for racing cars (racing usually takes place in the evening (but it also happens during the day) down the road from Chester Road all the way to Thornhill Road (there were already accidents reported where the speeding cars hit other cars parked on the road or somebody’s front fence due to excessive speed). I think it is the high time for the double yellow lines to be extended further down to at least the corner of Thorney Road and speed restrictions put into place (either speed bumps or speed cameras). I hope this can be done before any child gets seriously hurt or any other accident happens.

Lowlands avenue parking is horrific, 1st October

Sun, 01 Oct 2023 14:05:03 +0100
52.577935 -1.894111

The residents of Lowlands Avenue are parking both sides of the road, this is a real problem specifically around number 41 near to the junction with Blackwood drive and at the other end at the junction with Blackwood Road. It's almost impossible to pull on or off my mother's drive or to navigate driving along the road. Any individual who tries to drive along this road is taking a huge risk due to the lack of visibility. The irresponsible granting by Walsall council of planning permission to enlarge these semi detached homes means most homes now have 4 adults all with cars living at the homes. No surprise the car parking is horrific. May I request consideration is given to making one side double yellow , specifically around the junctions, and considering making the road one way traffic only.

Parking on Manor Road, 1st September

Fri, 01 Sep 2023 19:41:41 +0100
52.57838 -1.883007

The parking on the top end of Manor Road is horrendous mon-Fri during the day. Today it look a lorry about 5 minutes to manoeuvre between all the parked cars. Dustbin lorries regularly struggle. If the emergency services had to come down, especially fire or an ambulance they would really struggle and it would cause unnecessary delays. It’s also a danger for cars pulling off their drives as they can’t see what is coming and for children crossing the road to school as cars have to pull onto pavements to allow others past. It also causes major backlogs especially during school time as the traffic lights at the top cause backlogs as people can’t pass. Could the double yellows come down down further or a time restriction/residents only parking to reduce the cars parking there? A few would be ok, but sometimes there are so many it turns it into a single track road. I think people park from the businesses up in Chester Road.
