Flytipping in woods by Watt Close Allotments, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 15:59:03 +0100
52.331863 -2.069

Last night it seems someone has fly tipped a large wooden desk unit or something like it in the woods next to the Allotments/School playing field - it wasn't there yesterday. I couldn't see any tyre tracks but it was a large object to get all the way in there. Also about ten days ago there was also some dumping of rubble and plants in the woods next to there like what happened last spring. We've collected and removed most of the glass and dangerous debris up ourselves from that and disposed of it. I have just reported it but couldn't enter the location exactly on the Council website as the search box wouldn't recognise Spadesbourne Walk so I've marked it here too. Thank you

Debris and litter on the Bellway - Whitford Heights Greyhound site., 17th February

Sat, 17 Feb 2024 14:16:32 +0000
52.330439 -2.069615

There is a collection of street signs, furniture, litter and vinyl banners hanging off the fencing at this site. Could the developers please clear some of this up? We live opposite and as well as the high volume of construction traffic using Fox lane shaking our house daily we are also left starting at a complete eyesore which has stood like this for two years now.

Bins removed and thrown into Brook, 17th February

Sat, 17 Feb 2024 14:16:38 +0000
52.330439 -2.069615

Hello, There were near a dozen bins along Spadesbourne Walk and through the park removed and thrown into the brook last night. We managed to recover five or six of them but there are still two we couldn't reach... One on the corner of Brook Road/Spadesbourne Walk behind the garages and another midway along Spadesbourne Walk. It seems every week at least one is picked up and either thrown into the brook or else the contents strewn about - Could someone not look in to actually using the locks on the sides of the them, that are there to stop this? - It must surely have some cost having to replace several of these every month.

Overflowing bins at the Premier Store Rock Hill, 12th October

Thu, 12 Oct 2023 16:01:52 +0100
52.325278 -2.072521

I walk this route four times a day going to the school and regularly the street is awash with litter. Much of it is commercial waste from the shop on Rock Hill. They have bins but they often seem to miss them, or else they leave them wide open and the wind blows all the rubbish into the street. The bins have Bromsgrove Council Waste Services on them. Could they perhaps be emptied more often or the shop be provided with a second bin so perhaps they can fill them and close them rather than just throwing litter in their general vicinity. We often go on litter walks with Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful and it feels like you are swimming against the current when business' like this just leave their litter out in the street.

Sewage coming out of drain and running down road, 12th October

Thu, 12 Oct 2023 15:54:08 +0100
52.325806 -2.072344

For over a year now there has been a stream of drainage overflow running down Rock Hill. There was actual faeces coming up out of it recently, should that be coming out of a roadside drain in the first place(?) the smell is always repulsive. This is on a route to a school and passing a Bus Stop where people are expected to stand. I and many others have reported this to Worcester County Council who are 'aware' and 'monitoring' but this doesn't seem to be helping with the issue itself. It is not good to have to walk two children to school down here every day, and it is so much worse when its raining/wet - as you get sprayed with it from all the cars. It is a health issue as much as anything. The opposite pavement is also in such poor condition, uneven and full of potholes and near the school so narrow and overgrown that it isn't safe to use. We've been having to detour down Highfield road when it does rain. Although that has its own issues of cars parked on all the pavements. I can understand why so many people drive to the school rather than walk at the moment. Could we please get some action to deal with this issue soon? I know nothing about drains but if the overflow runs down Rock Hill and goes back down the next drain along then presumably the blockage is somewhere between these two? Thank you.

Cars parked on hte junction creating hazard to pedestrians and road users, 8th September

Fri, 08 Sep 2023 07:59:59 +0100
52.330449 -2.071366

Cars, large vans and flat bed trucks are parking on the road, on the T junction of Shrubbery Road and Millfield Road. This is creating a very narrowed junction that is unsafe for both, road users and pedestrians. Many near misses as it is impossible to see around the vehicles. now schools are back there is significant risk of RTC. Yellow lines are needed to enforce the Highway Code which cites "The nearest you can park to a junction is 10 metres (or 32 feet). This is to allow drivers emerging from, or turning into, the junction a clear view of the road they are joining. It also allows them to see hazards such as pedestrians or cyclists at the junction."

Watt Close Allotments Flytipping, 25th July

Tue, 25 Jul 2023 15:37:02 +0100
52.331606 -2.070066

Hello, Somone has fly-tipped several small loads of rubble, soil and broken glass around Spadesbourne Walk and the entrance to Watt Close Allotments. I will report it on the website but there are a lot of panes of broken glass in the rubble in the wooded area so it would be good to warn people as I know a lot of dog walkers use the field here especially when the park is busy in the summer. For the past month there has been assorted soil, rubble and plants tipped alongside the path leading from Spadesbourne Walk up to the Watt Close allotments. Last week there was more soil and bricks dumped into Spadesbourne Brook itself and today in the wooded area next to the allotments there are several piles of wood, rubble, bricks and panes of broken glass. It appears like someone is dumping things one wheelbarrow at a time.I found our dog deep in one of the piles of glass and soil today when she wouldn't come back from the wooded area where she likes to run. Could someone please remove this broken glass and could something be done to stop this regular dumping of soil, rubble and glass in this area. Is there nowhere for people to dispose of things like this on the allotments? Thank you.

Obstructing pavement and pedestrian crossing in Bromsgrove, 14th March

Tue, 14 Mar 2023 15:47:30 +0000
52.333635 -2.064084

There are regularly cars parked blocking the pavement here on St John Street - Right opposite the public car park at Waitrose! Its particularly makes getting a push chair through difficult, sometimes you have to go into the road to get around, and then it obstructs the view of traffic when you are trying to use the crossing to cross the road. This particular silver car, registration N21GJD is parked here almost permanently - much cheaper than using the pay and display car park I suppose. Its all very well having zigzag and yellow lines on the roads and crossings but this just leads to selfish and lazy drivers parking on footpaths like this, why is more not done about tackling these selfish and anti-social drivers in Bromsgrove?

Waste coming up from drain into road/pavement., 27th February

Mon, 27 Feb 2023 15:36:24 +0000
52.325839 -2.072202

Hello, The drain at the junction of Albert Road and Rock Hill is spewing out fowl smelling fluid/waste again and has been for the past few days. We have not had any rain so I don't know where it is coming from. I know it was looked at and dug up several times last year, after it had done this, but whatever was done does not seem to have resolved the issue. Its really unpleasant as the water and smell gathers in front of the Bus Stop on Rock Hill. I will say whoever cut the bushes back on the pub side of the road just left all the soil and debris from that on the pavement and in the gutter so I'm sure all that washing down it probably hasn't helped matters.
