Dangerous road junction, 21st August
When arriving at this junction from the Leapoges Road the visibility is impaired by the hedgerow which blocks the line of sight into a dip in the road. This along with other factors such as the angle of view into the sun in the morning, the hill beyond the junction in both directions makes it a particularlly dangerous junction. Something needs done to address the layout even if major works are involved.
In the short space of time that I have lived in the area I have came across 5 accidents one of which I witnessed as it happened. I have spoken with residents nearby and they are aware of many accidents at the junction. Quarry vehicles from the nearby Edentrillick quarry and agricultural vechicles are common too which adds to the danger. In the accidents I saw, the vehicle coming out of the junction has been hit by car coming from Ballynahinch and in both of the recent cases a separate vehicle was coming from Dromore over the brow of a hill.
