Broken culvert so road constantly flooding, 11th March
The field next to the road used to drain under it, but that seems to be blocked and doesn't happen, so water constantly streams onto the road. This causes - a significant danger to cyclists from slippery surfaces - increased road erosion - lethal conditions in freezing weather, with sheet ice on the main road even after gritting

Flooding, 28th October
The culverts on Victoria Road are overflowing to the point it's coming up through one of the manhole covers in the centre of the junction with Station Road, the only thing currently preventing the houses opposite from flooding is the brief respites in the downpour and the small kerb diverting the flow of water downhill on Station Road. In heavy showers the water is over the kerb and with passing cars the houses and pedestrians are getting forcefully soaked. Issue has been steadily worsening for 12-18months, council informed but so far no action, Wessex callout this evening and manhole not on their map.

Very high birch trees, 10th October
Very close to my property are 3 silver birch trees. I understand that they were planted about 20plus years ago. It’s possible for this variety to grow in access of 30 meters?! probably not far off af that now ? As you can imagine they take a lot of light away. What I would really like is for them to be top out, which the experts tell me is possible. The other problem I have encountered is medical. They are notoriously bad for causing hay fever like symptoms, for which I have to take medication. During conversation I have discovered that my neighbour has the same problem?? Also in the immediate vicinity there’s a huge amount of brambles and stinging nettles, mostly due to the lack of control when the council decides re-wilding was fashionable! Sadly nature needs carful handling, leaving to its own devices doesn’t work, rather like a garden. I do take care of shrubs etc. immediately out side my gate, but the tree situations is beyond my capabilities!
