A newly laid stretch of road is going to get treatment after a couple of months, which shows the shoddy quality tax payers are funding, meanwhile sunken roads, pot holes and other damaged/collapsing surfaces around Shepton Mallet and indeed the rest of the county...aren't 'safety defects' for road users. Hands up who's not doing their jobs properly.

Just after the left hand turning, on Maesdown Road heading towards Evercreech there is a terrible pothole. It’s usually covered in water so you don’t see it until it’s knocked the bottom out your vehicle., 24th February

Sat, 24 Feb 2024 23:07:23 +0000
51.176 -2.507662

This pothole has been there for a few weeks, hard to see as it’s covered in water due to the recent bad weather. Most noticeable when travelling from Doulting to Evercreech. This part of the road usually floods when it rains alot so it’s this particular part.

Pre-emptive report: potholes, 19th February

This road is currently being resurfaced which is good of course and long overdue. I'm starting a book on how long after the road surface is complete that it a. crumbles 5 to 1 or b. a utility service comes along and digs it up odds on 2 to 1 I'm already paying out.

Dangerous Drain cover raised opposite the foothpath causing a hazard to traffic and potholes, 2nd January

Tue, 02 Jan 2024 16:40:48 +0000
51.165803 -2.520371

Although some one came out and looked at it in Dec and replaced it, because the drain is completely blocked below the cover, every time it rains the flood of water pushes it out of place again Until the drain is sucked out this will continue to happen causing a hazard to traffic using the lane, It is also contributing to the surface of the lane being washed away as water has to flow on the surface to the next drain, this is causing potholes
