Significant flooding approx 2ft deep. Road impassable and should be closed, 18th February

Sun, 18 Feb 2024 10:57:49 +0000

This flooding is still occurring when it rains as the silt has still not been sorted. The drains need thoroughly checking and cleaning. This is a continual issue which is not being addressed. The fields need to ensure runoff does not meet the roads.

This section of road has got worse over time and this is the THIRD TIME ! This has been marked as a dangerous part of the road! Anothe lorry has come off the road and basically got stuck and cannot get back on the road! Travelling towards Shepton Mallet the side verge has had soo many large vehicles come off the road (busses and at least 3 lorries) each time every vehicle has to call for a tow truck ! I was lucky enough to capture this one during day light hours! To prove to you that this side verge need filling in ASAP! A dangerous situation will get worse ! Please get the large subsides section filled in before a serious accident occurs. I don’t want to report this a fourth time.

Finger post Sign Damaged, 12th January

Fri, 12 Jan 2024 10:44:04 +0000
51.241485 -2.500841

The finger post sign has been hit by the grass verge / hedge cutting tractor and one or the finger signs has been snapped off. The snapped finger sign is still there on the ground and can most probably be reduced if someone gets there before it’s nicked / lost. I haven’t checked the other that are still attached for damage so these may need remedial work also.

Sat, 09 Dec 2023 16:43:54 +0000
51.248551 -2.517198

The Left hand 30mph terminal sign is faded on Stockhill Rd, Chilcompton, adjacent junction Coalpit Lane. It is normally the only one that can be seen due to foliage growth on the Right hand side of the road. This reduces the guidance to motorists that they are entering into a 30mph speed limited area with the corresponding risk to road safety.

A large section of road has subsided and has now become a large deep drop which is dangerous as the tarmac now just disappears along the left edge of the road as so many large vehicles have fallen off the road and have now caused a huge gully! URGENT filling required to stop lorries and busses coming off the road and especially cars coming off the road and not being able to get back on the road. Will cause damage to vehicles.

Sun, 19 Nov 2023 00:33:46 +0000

This road surface is unbelievable bumpy. It’s extremely patchy loose ground and potholes. On the bend just before the garage is the worst stretch. But the whole length of road needs resurfacing it’s going to get even worse as water will get into cracks in winter.
