Tree in Jubilee Garden overhanging property and resting on telephone wire, 11th November

Thu, 11 Nov 2021 09:44:56 +0000
57.661421 -2.745651

This job was raised with Aberdeenshire Council in July/August, but action is still outstanding and no date for completion of works has been provided. Despite several attempts to obtain information about the status of this work from the Aberdeenshie Council contact numbers, it has not been possible to obtain a response. Note that there is a risk of damage to the telephone cable entering an adjacent property as the branches are resting on the cable.

Tall trees close to house, 4th September

Wed, 04 Sep 2019 19:08:29 +0100
57.661065 -2.745091

2 tall trees close to house. There have been trees falling over in the village recently and if these 2 trees fell over then they would damage our house. The request is to cut them down to a smaller size so they don’t pose this risk. There are also trees down the side of the old school which would cause a risk to our house.

2 large trees, branches falling on pavement and on adjacent private property, 7th January

Sun, 07 Jan 2018 18:16:54 +0000
57.661368 -2.745323

Several branches have fallen off one or both of the two large sycamore trees on School Road on the right just before the entrance to Corrie Cottage (coming from Church Street), which have now reached a considerable height. The branches have been cleared, but as the trees are very close to property on both sides of the road, and the pavements running under the trees are well used, it would be preferable if the trees could be removed to prevent any damage to persons, animals or property. The sycamore is not native to the area. It should also be noted that larger branches have previously fallen onto and damaged cars parked at the side of the road beneath them.

Drainage problem at school gates, 31st January

Tue, 31 Jan 2017 15:26:55 +0000
57.660334 -2.745345

A point which could be a problem regarding the water drainage at the school gate. Walking up the road the other night in very wet weather I noticed a problem at the school gate. There was such a build up of leaves that a large lake of water was a large lake of water building up behind the leaves. Some water was going into the drainage strip but it was mostly covered by leaves. I did pull away (by hand) a section of leaves which resulted in an overflow of water down the road as the drain could not cope with the deluge of water going into it. It was raining so I did not hang about to make sure what I had done worked. There is mesh on the school gates so the leaves were collecting up to over a foot high and quite deep. Obviously this will only occur in similar circumstances with the weather but may be we need to consider removing the mesh.
