FIXMYSTREET IN YO41 1RG
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of YO41 1RG:
Somebody living in layby!, 23rd October
A166 Layby at the top of Garrowby Hill opposite Yorkshire water underground reservoir/mast:
It appears that someone is living in the layby/grass verge on the A166 on the eastern side (southbound) of the road. OS Grid Ref: SE81305679, Postcode: YO42 1TE.
If someone is 'living' here: 1: What are the arrangements for toilet waste, grey water, rubbish etc, this is a public health issue? 2: The layby exisits so drivers can take a break/rest, as this fleet of vehicles is parked there, now a driver will be put offf taking a break here and is more liable to have an accident further down the road due to the facilities being used for other purposes they should not.
The council needs to take suitable legal action to move them on from this location!
The following vehicles are mostly/always parked at this location and must logically belong to the same person.
Crimson Rover P514NVC MOT: expired 1 August 2024 Tax: until 1 August 2024 Insurance: insured when checked on 23/10/2023
Red Land Rover Discovery KG53ZGV MOT: 11 May 2023 - now expired Tax: until 11 May 2023 expired Insurance: insured when checked on 23/10/2023 So therefore this is an illegally parked vehicle on the public highway! Should this not by towed away as per the adverts!
Grey Citreon Van MX66GWW MOT: 25 January 2024 Tax: until 1 January 2024 Insurance: insured when checked on 23/10/2023
Red Foden Truck & Cream Trailer E657OWT MOT: 'No details held by DVLA' Tax: 1 March 2024 Insurance: insured when checked on 23/10/2023
Black Ford Mondeo Estate AJ51MHA MOT: 13 April 2023 - now expired Tax: until 1 November 2023 Insurance: This vehicle is NOT showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today (23/10/2023). So therefore this is an illegally parked vehicle on the public highway! Should this not by towed away as per the adverts!

Car in layby, 20th August
There has been a dark BMW which looks to have European number plates fitted which has been parked there for at least the last 2 weeks... Not sure if it has been abandoned or someone is sleeping rough in the car.
Looks too good from the road to be dumped

The road is in a disgusting state from farm vehicles leaving the lay by where they have a tank.. they are also churning up the grass which I expect will be left like last year which looks a right mess, why cant they put the tank in there OWN field and churn that up!
