Public transport in YO1 postcode is served by the York train station connecting it to destinations in the north and south of the city. Bus services run regularly to the postcode, as well as park and ride buses which provide access to the city from the outskirts. The local bus and train links make travel to numerous attractions located in the surrounding towns and villages an easy and convenient choice.

Whilst YO1 is mainly a commercial and cultural hub, there are also green spaces nearby to enjoy. Rowntree Park is one of the largest open spaces in York where many city events are held. It is a popular spot for walks, picnics and dog-walking.
