This area is woodland/common ground used for recreation, dog walking and the like. There is a problem with some residents local to the area who continuously fly-tip. This gets reported to WLDC but nothing gets done about it. Some signs regarding fly-tipping should be put up as a start.

74cm wide x 15cm deep pot hole/s in road, 16th February

Fri, 16 Feb 2018 13:46:30 +0000

This single entrance to the whole Kestral Park estate has been deteriorating for over at least the last year and a half and has now reached the point where the state of road is a major hazard to road users including pedestrians. I have personally reported this to the council responsible for the up keep and safety of our public roads at least twice previously with no action taken and absolutely no feedback by the council regarding possible repair to be taken place or any timescales for repair. These potholes are causing major damage to my own and other residents vehicles, causing hundreds of pounds repairs to wheels, damaged tyres and suspension components not to mention the possible danger of other car drivers and pedestrians due to cars entering kestral park having to avoid the worst potholes by driving or swerving over to the other side of the road, potentially crashing head on with the traffic coming the other way leaving kestral park. The road itself has come into such disrepair that filling the deepest potholes (74cm wide x 15cm deep) with tarmac or such like is not a viable option and complete section road repair is the obvious solution.

Practically the whole road is full of Potholes, 12th February

Mon, 12 Feb 2018 11:21:47 +0000

Good Morning I am a resident in Thornwood and I would like to report the sheer amount of potholes that have appeared down the whole road. There is one directly outside my property which I actually fell in at night and twisted my ankle. Numerous neighbours have reported this but no one has come out or done anything about it. It is getting unavoidable now as there are cars parked on both sides of the pavement so my car is going to get damaged f they are not fixed . Kind Regards Helen Elizabeth Farnsworth

Road floods at the slightest rainfall, 3rd January

Wed, 03 Jan 2018 09:55:55 +0000

On turning into Tawd Road from Tanhouse road the road is often flooded, recently I saw a wheelchair user having to run off the pavement into the main road to get into Tawd Road, the flooding is often considarable and I am concerned this could lead to injury to footpath users, the subway crossing also floods easily thus is not an option. this has been a problem for some months now and is getting worse

THREE stairwell lights faulty, 2nd January

Tue, 02 Jan 2018 07:50:47 +0000

I have reported one of these faulty stairwell lights on numerous occasions over the past months. This faulty light is on the ground floor at the base of the stairs. This light has been repaired multiple times by your contractor, only to fail again after a few days. I have also previously reported the faulty light that is on the first floor, between the entrance doors to flat numbers 167 & 169. I have not yet had a reply from the Council over this light, even though it is now approximately three weeks since I reported it. Now a third light has failed. This light is also on the first floor, at the opposite end of the landing (at the top of the stairs from the ground floor). The Council MUST address these failed lights quickly and to a satisfactory quality of repair. These lights need to be working, as there is no other way out of the building in the event of an emergency. Not only that, it is dangerous in normal day to day use. The stairwell is so dark. Its the darkest part of the year and you have just bricked up all the windows that used to let some light into the stairwell. Someone will seriously injure themselves, as half the lights aren't working. Plus, the Council cannot say it wasn't warned.

Very large pothole (approx 3 foot long) on Cobbs Brow Lane, 19th December

Tue, 19 Dec 2017 13:19:28 +0000

Driving down Cobbs Brow Lane approximately 5pm on 18/12/2017 the front wheel of the car on the passenger side hit the very large and deep pothole. The tyre is badly punctured and the wheel is damaged resulting in a whole new wheel and tyre being needed. It was dark, misty and there was no warning barrier on approach to the pothole. When went back to inspect, a barrier was present but away from the pothole, we placed barrier over the pothole to avoid other vehicles being damaged.

Very uneven Flags., 17th November

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 18:43:22 +0000

Most of the Main Footpath from Winsters to the Concourse which is Flagged, is very uneven. The condition of the Footpath has got to a state that there are MANY Flags "Sticking up" and are very dangerous to ride a bicycle on and for Pedestrians to TRIP on also. From the Cyclists point of view, another concern are the WIDENING GAPS between the Flags, which can snag and disorientate the Cyclists Wheels. Suggest Total Flag removal and Tar Mac the Whole Footpath, Please, BEFORE someone gets Seriously hurt.

Previously boarded up garage broken into and fire lit inside on November 5th in one of the council garages at the side of 23 Elmstead., 6th November

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 18:08:36 +0000

On November 5th one of the garages at the side of 23 Elmstead had the wooden boarding/door stolen by local criminal youth to burn on bonfire night, they also attempted to remove the boards off the other two boarded garages, The now open and unsecure garage has been flytipped in already and the rubbish was set alight. The fire looks to have damaged the garage roof beams !! Please seriously consider putting replacement garage doors on these boarded up garages and renting them out to create council revenue rather than leaving them to languish and attract nuisance vandelism, constant fly tipping and the wooden boards being set alight. Local residents are seriously annoyed, inconvenienced and left feeling threatened by this ongoing situation, the council should be taking the measures necessary to stop this happening repeatedly to the moral tax payers that have no choice but to live among this criminal scum behaviour.
