It has a well-connected public transport system, with two train stations, numerous bus routes and easy access to the M6 motorway.

In recent years, the WA10 postcode has been home to many new developments, with hundreds of new homes being built in the Burtonwood, Westbrook and Clock Face areas. The area is popular with young professionals, and is well connected to both Manchester and Liverpool.
