Car parking on yellow lines, 12th July

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 13:21:35 +0100

There is a notorious problem with car parking in front of garages, blocking them, making unable for people who renting them from council for use. Uploaded a google map photo, but at the moment is a same situation, car parked in front of garage i'm renting, making me unable to get my car and go anywhere. It's happening almost every day. There use to be a traffic warden walking through few times a day, handing parking fines to those who parked illegally, maybe it is a time to get them back?

Mon, 28 May 2018 22:03:37 +0100

No 16 has recently moved into the address. Since then multiple cars have been parked around that address. When he has visitors it escalates the problem. Other residents despair. Struggle to park even in front of their own property.

Incredibly poor road surface with a number of deep potholes in close proximity, 30th April

Mon, 30 Apr 2018 18:00:01 +0100

Looks like this has been reported several months ago but still not rectified. A huge stretch of dangerous road surface outside Carnforth Avenue, to avoid it cars are driving on the opposite side of the road down hill approaching a blind corner so it's obviously a significant risk that needs sorting asap

Lack of Safe Crossing, 27th April

Fri, 27 Apr 2018 08:33:38 +0100

I feel there is a need for a pedestrian crossing in this area. I have to cross this road daily and it is very difficult for an able bodied person let alone elderly, disabled and children (which I see many of crossing this road). There is a point with a dropped curb but this is not enough. It is a wide road and drivers often drive too fast and donít slow down for/ beep at pedestrians who have started crossing.

There was a deep pothole on the corner outside Wakefield College which was filled in. The fix has failed and the pothole is back. It is 2 lanes and if there is a car in the other lane the pothole is unavoidable.

Dangerous, sharp and rusty trip hazard, 3rd March

Sat, 03 Mar 2018 10:43:07 +0000

A sign has been removed by cutting it off at 5'' from the ground. It is a trip hazard, and incredibly dangerous, it is next to a path near the skate park, not far from the Children' s playground. I only just noticed it in the snow. There are 2 parts so easy to trip on one and fall on the other. Any cut will be deep and liable to infection from rust and soil.

Bins permanently left on street, 15th February

Thu, 15 Feb 2018 23:10:27 +0000

Several houses on the corner of Clarendon Street and Pinderfields Road permanently leave their bins on the footpath, with the number of bins regularly being 6 - 8, irrespective of when the collection day is. This means that pedestrians have to walk on the road which is dangerous, being that it is a corner and junction, in addition to having several schools in the area. The bins are frequently overflowing with the lids open, and rubbish scattered on the pavement, meaning a health risk is also present.

Cars parked blocking driveways and parked during hours in which restrictions are in place, 15th February

Thu, 15 Feb 2018 23:02:54 +0000

Cars are frequently parked on the part of Cliff Park Avenue opposite and extremely close to driveways, therefore severely limiting access. These cars more often than not are also parked there at times in which the no-parking signage is in effect in the morning and evening. This is a ongoing issue

Very poor road surface and potholes, 15th February

Thu, 15 Feb 2018 22:55:33 +0000

A number of deep potholes and a long stretch of very poor road surface exists on Balne Lane along the descending half of the carriageway, particularly at the junction to Carnforth Avenue. This means cars often have to drive in the oncoming lane which is dangerous with the blind corner ahead

Fast food litter, 5th February

Mon, 05 Feb 2018 14:49:55 +0000

This area is currently full of fast food litter. In the rest of the UK, one of these well known outlets has an obligation to clean their immediate area, so why doesn't that apply up here? Their litter is also joined by that of two other companies. If you're going to allow these companies to trade, either please enforce THEM to clean up their surrounding areas, or increase your street cleaning. Alternatively get your enforcement officers down there and start issuing some FPN's, like proactive councils seem to manage. Also, the area near the Westgate Station car park is filthy. Fast food litter on the benches, all over the pavements, and hardly a welcoming gateway to Wakefield. Interestingly the only clean place I've seen today is outside Wakefield One.

Dangerous Parking, 28th January

Sun, 28 Jan 2018 20:39:38 +0000

There are constantly cars parked on the corners of this street which is illegal and extremely dangerous when people are trying to get in or out onto a busy Horbury Road. It is mainly at tea times when the traffic is busiest. It causes problems every day and is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident.
