Virgin media cable laying, 27th November

Mon, 27 Nov 2017 07:20:05 +0000

Contractors for virgin media have left the cul de sac in an absolute mess. They have dug channels into the road cross crossing the cul de sac and then piecemeal tarmacced the road in a completely different colour and it looks like a really bad patchwork. They did not follow their own markings which would have followed the curve of the roadway unlike the work carried out in the next cul de sac. They have not cleaned the roadway properly either after collecting some of their rubbish. The whole road surface needs to be resurfaced so it looks the same.

The manhole/drain cover right on the said roundabout on Asdale Road {for traffic heading towards Denby Dale Rd} is in a bad state with the surface around the cover has come away and left holes and appears to be 'sinking' and in need of serious attention. Dangerous for motorcyclists and cyclists especially.

The roundabout at the junction of ASDA Supermarket, Asdale Road, Wakefield, 11th October

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 13:26:23 +0100

The road surface on the roundabout to the approach to ASDA supermarket is best described as 'lumpy' and uneven and is in need of repair on such a main and popular road. Maybe this work/repair could have been carried out when the very recent resurfacing approach to ASDA supermarket was undertaken ?

Road surface on all of the junction, 11th October

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 13:18:08 +0100

The whole of this junction's road surface, Marshall Avenue with Stoney Lane, Hall Green, Wakefield. It has been in this state (and worsening) for some years now and does require attention. Please don't simply fill in any hold with tarmac. This will simply lift with inclement wet/frost weather. It requires cutting away and replacing as the council did with Hendal Lane/Standbridge Lane in Kettlethorpe, Wakefield.

Road surface disintegrating., 11th October

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 13:06:16 +0100

The surface is disintegrating leaving a 'gouge/furrow' in the road with what appears to be 'inferior' road surfacing material when originally laid. Just around the bend where Hollingthorpe Lane joins with Hollingthorpe Road, you can see the join in the tarmac which appears better material used beyond this.

Work marked to be done but not carried out., 14th March

Tue, 14 Mar 2017 15:09:29 +0000

A number of weeks/ months (possibly) on Chevet Lane rising up from the crossroads with Lodge Lane and Common Lane there were white markings applied where potholes and road erosion had been marked for repair. The whitened paint marking has long since gone but as yet no repairs at all along the road. There are also quite bad potholes further along Chevet Lane on the bend before the steep hill going down towards the junction with Haw Park Lane. Anyone hitting these at a slightly inappropriate speed on the bend may well be bounced into oncoming traffic.
