FIXMYSTREET IN WF2 0FQ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of WF2 0FQ:
Road sign leaning, 27th March
Yesterday there were traffic lights and works on the corner of Wrenthorpe Close and Wrenthorpe Lane, a number of works cans and operatives involved and parked on the pavements. This morning I noticed the street sign for Wrenthorpe Close has clearly been driven into and is now leaning against the knee rail. I hope the contractors responsible have reported it but given their parking yesterday i doubt it.

The path that leads from the railway bridge to balne lane fields is very dangerous. I’ve spoken to a few people who have slipped /tripped here due to the path being unlevel. This is due to tree roots and the path needing some maintenance.

Parking on double yellows, 20th March
Cars are always parked outside just tyres on double yellows, coming round the bend from Wakefield town centre is an accident waiting to happen as people are coming around the corner and cars are parked blocking one of the lanes. Lanes were blocked the other day as a transit was parked there and everyone coming round corner had to slam on. This is becoming a regular occurrence.

50m stretch of potholes, 17th March
These potholes have been reported many times over several years and we were pleased to see the road resurfaced but it was only for a tiny section of this road of 25m instead of the whole road. The rest of section from Lawfield Lane to Clarence Walk to the end of Park Grove Rd all needs properly resurfacing now. It cannot wait till 2025 resurfacing programme. This road is used for countless events in Thornes Park and should be given more funding as a result as its unfair on the local residents to promote park use to the piint wuere it drives the raods into a bad state and its not be fully resurfaced in 20 years ive lived here. You cant keep filling potholes on this road. It needs a proper resurfacing job.
