TR17 is well-connected, being served by a fast National Rail service and major road networks. The major A30 route links Truro to Newquay and Exeter. Cornwall Airport Newquay provides international links to Europe, Northern Ireland, and Scotland.
In terms of culture, TR17 hosts many annual events such as the Falmouth Oyster Festival, Falmouth Regatta, and Truro Festival of Lights, as well as annual Christmas markets in Lemon Quay and the award-winning Porthleven Food and Music Festival.
The area also offers a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, such as walks, hikes, sailing, surfing, and cycling. There are a number of local nature reserves nearby which are popular for bird-watching.
