The postcode district was introduced in 2000 and has a population of 12,296 as of 2011.

The majority of properties in TS26 are semi-detached and detached homes built between 1930-1960s. Billingham and Wolviston are the main residential areas in this postcode and are popular for their excellent primary and secondary school.

The main roads through this postcode include the A689 and A19. There are a number of bus routes serving the district and the nearest railway station is located in Middlesbrough.

TS26 is located near the rivers Tees and Skerne and is close to a number of nature reserves, including South Tees Heritage Coast, Durham Wildlife Trust and Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, offering a variety of wildlife habitats and outdoor activities. Billingham Beck Valley Country Park is a popular outdoor activity venue for walking, cycling, bird watching and more.

The town of Billingham is home to Billingham Forum, a multi-purpose leisure and entertainment centre and venue, which includes a public library, ice rink, swimming pool, indoor bowling and sports centre. There are also a number of local pubs, cafes and restaurants located in and around the postcode.

The Tees Valley area is well known for its chemical and engineering industries which makes it an attractive place to live and work. It is home to a number of local and national companies such as GSK, GlaxoSmithkline, Huntsman Manufacturing and Siemens.

TS26 is a great area to live and has excellent transport links, a wide range of local amenities and a number of outdoor activities to suit all tastes.
