Street lights obscured, 6th March
The "new" street lighting seems to be on a shorter pole and definitely with a shorter reach arm. This means that however bright the light is, it is much more quickly obscured by the foliage. Obviously the council is not simply a contractor to put up equipment, but they are responsible for providing a service. In this case (and many others) the service is not provided despite fully functioning equipment. There is clearly a need for some alternative lampposts which allow for a greater spread of light. Its also a sad waste of public money to have installed inappropriate equipment in the first place. I do hope the council will take responsibility for their shortcomings and work with their partners to resolve this.

15 inch crater has opened up on the driving line as you go around the corner, 11th February

Lots of litter on the side of the road, 20th January

Excessive overgrown bushes obstructing public footpath and vehicular access road, 9th June
The public access road at the rear of Brunel Ct. And Rowden Hill bungalows, leading to Lady field, is badly overgrown by bushes, brambles and vegetation. This needs urgent cutting back as the access is used by cars and pedestrians, many of who are elderly and infirm. There have been several near misses where drivers are unable to see pedestrians and pedestrians are forced into the vegetation. Please liaise with the correct depth to fix this issue as left in the current state there will soon be serious injury. (this has been reported to Wilts council on numerous occasions. Turning head obstruction, 18th December
One of our neighbours consistently uses the turning head as a parking space for their own and visitors vehicles and this obstructs other vehicles, including deliveries and ambulances. This is a narrow street, technically single lane and the very same neighbour parks their other vehicles roadside in front of other houses (not theirs) that causes even more obstruction.

Rocking manhole cover on Westmead Lane, 21st June
The state of Westmead Lane is extremely bad and particularly outside Bowles Court which is an elderly peoples' development. The manhole covers in general are very badly potholed around them and one in particular is rocking every time a vehicle of whatever size passes over it. This is causing distress to residents whose properties front Westmead Lane in particular one resident who is recently discharged from hospital and the recovery is being delayed due to the noise.

Nettles overgrown onto heavily used footpath such that it's difficult to pass without walking on the roundabout

Rocking manhole cover, 17th August
Location: Rocking manhole cover on the corner of Bristol Road and Park Terrace, outside the Garden Veterinary Group.
Description: Rectangular double size manhole containing a single fiber optic cable. This is a very large cover for a very small cable.
Problem: The cover makes a loud clanging noise every time a vehicle passes over it and it's making it impossible for local residents to sleep at night.
History: The cover was replaced approximately two months ago, and now needs to be repaired again. The installed cover does not appear to be suitable for a high traffic road like the A420.
Suggestion: Could a temporary layer of tarmac please be placed over the cover until a permanent solution can be implemented? This would allow families with small children to get some sleep at night.

Collection of deep potholes and ruts, 25th January
There are a serious of large potholes and ruts in the road leaving Chippenham. Very close to the junction which makes braking / steering very tricky, particularly in the wet as well as the usual shudder to the cars going over it.
