Upper Killay is a small, residential area with a mix of small and large businesses including retailers and professional services. There is also a range of locally owned cafes and take-away restaurants.

Penllergaer is a residential and industrial village located close to the the Gower, with a variety of businesses ranging from manufacturing to catering, from IT to transport.

In terms of amenities, SA14 postcode area offers a range of leisure facilities such as sports and fitness centers, swimming pools, parks and woodland walking areas. The SA14 postcode is also served by a number of schools and childcare facilities offering a range of educational services.

The area is also served by two railway stations, the Gowerton station which provides direct services to Swansea, Cardiff and London, and the Penllergaer station offering services to destinations within the SA14 postcode area.
