SA12 is a postcode district in the Swansea post town and is found in Wales, United Kingdom. Located in the SA12 postcode area of Swansea within the Swansea post town completely, the area covers about 8.44 square miles that include the very popular teams of Loughor, Penclawdd and Gowerton.

The area is bounded by the districts of SA2, SA3, SA11, SA18 and SA19. Major local routes include the A484, A4067, A4118 and A4230. Local bus routes are also provided by First Cymru and Swansea Bus Company.

The area has a population of around 11,000 people and is mainly residential with a few small businesses located within the district. The centre of SA12 is known to be Gowerton, but the village of Penclawdd carries more of the local businesses. Other villages within the district are Llangennith, Oxwich, Reynoldston, Kilvrough and Worm Hill.

Many people in SA12 choose the area because of its proximity to the Gower Peninsula where you can find a variety of things from beautiful beaches and rolling greens to ancient castles and standing stones. The area is also known for its clear air and great stores,bars and other local amenities.

In terms of educational institutions, SA12 has two primary schools, Gowerton Primary School and Penclawdd Primary School, as well as two secondary schools Gower College Swansea and Penclawdd Comprehensive School.

For its healthcare, residents are served by Singleton Hospital and Morriston Hospital. Local sports teams, such as Gowerton RFC, Loughor, Penclawdd RFC and Gowerton Cricket Club, can be found in and around the district.

In terms of its economy, the local metal works on Seaview Terrace and the nappy factory in Gorseinon provide employment for the local communities. This helps benefit the local economy as it keeps money within the local area. Additionally, there are a few shops and businesses located throughout the area, with the Loughor retail park on the outskirts providing a range of shopping options.
