The SR8 postcode is also situated near the Tees Valley Coastline, and is home to some of Britain's most beautiful beaches. Seaton Carew is a particularly popular spot for beach activities, including kite flying, sandcastle building, swimming and sunbathing.

The area of SR8 also includes attractive villages such as Port Clarence, Easington and Crimdon. There are two nature reserves, Crimdon Dene and Easington Country Park, as well as various other attractions, including The National miners Museum, loco sheds, coal mines, a café and gift shop.

The town centre has recently undergone redevelopment to improve the shopping and entertainment experience for locals and visitors alike. The postcode area is served by excellent transport links, with great rail and road access. Nearby Hartlepool railway station provides regular services to cities such as Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sunderland and York.
