The area is served by excellent transport links, located close to the A1M. There are two main railway stations - Stevenage and Letchworth - that are both on the East Coast Main Line.

Education in SG17 is provided by a variety of schools including primary schools, secondary schools, sixth form colleges and The Nobel School, a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive school. There are also several nurseries and pre-schools located in the area.

The area has two business parks, one located in Stevenage and another in Letchworth. Several large businesses are based in the area including Astrazeneca, Amazon and Volkswagen.

SG17 locals are able to enjoy a lifestyle that combines big city amenities with more rural and peaceful pleasures. There are several parks in the area, including Fairlands Valley Park, Verulam and Stanborough, which are all popular spots to walk, cycle, jog and take nature walks. There are also several local pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants providing plenty of options for dining out or for a romantic evening.
