S2 is well-connected by both public transport and major roads and motorways. It's served by an extensive bus network, as well as a number of railway stations which link the area to other parts of Sheffield and surrounding cities. The M1 motorway runs near the district, offering direct access to other UK cities and regions.

In terms of demographics, S2 is home to a great mix of nationalities and ages. According to the 2011 census, about 19 per cent of the population are of Asian ethnicity, while 16 per cent are from other minority ethnic backgrounds. The district also has a significant student population, which accounts for around 11 per cent of the total population.

The area is known for its lively atmosphere and strong sense of community. Residents are active in various local projects, such as the Hillsborough Festival and the Nether Edge Festival. There are also many local amenities, such as parks, shops, pubs, and leisure centres. Moreover, the S2 postcode district offers excellent health services, hospitals, and international Schools, making it an ideal place to live and work.
