Loose 'for sale' sign on former RBS Bank Adlington, 9th March
Half the 'for sale' sign blew off last night. The remaining sign is loose and blowing in the wind. It won't stay in place if the wind gusts and could land on a pedestrian or passing vehicle.
Lamb & Swift have been notified by e-mail and via Facebook, but are probably not at work until Monday.

M61 northbound, 28th January
A hole/ tarmac missing in the middle lane of the m61.. northbound, it’s about 2-3 mile ish after the services. it’s been like that for over a week now and getting worse. It’s northbound in the middle lane. Hitting that at speed is going to cause damage to cars and an accident.. the bang it made when I hit it I’m surprised it didn’t damage my wheel/ suspension and I’ve seen other cars hit it and brake, swerve after it

Flytipping Station Road Adlington, 19th October
Rubbish has been dumped in the area where the Station Rd toilets used to be, so I think it's on Chorley Council land. I removed a broken umbrella and a bag of takeaway containers, but the rubbish was too much and I had nowhere to put it (wouldn't go in a litter bin). Possibly thrown over the railings from Park Road, or from a car parked on Station Rd. Let's hope there's evidence in the bag to enable a prosecution.

Possible asbestos in Market Place (Adlington) litter bin, 14th September
There's a broken sheet of what might be asbestos in the litter bin on the corner of Market Place and Bank Street, Adlington. I assume this should be handled with care when the bin is emptied.
It might have fallen out of an overloaded skip and someone thought it safer to put in the bin rather than it being turned to powder by vehicles driving over it. There's also a rumour that the adjacent former bank premises have asbestos which is why redevelopment and sale has stalled.

Tyre dumped at Market Place Adlington, 3rd September
This tyre was immediately beneath the Market Place CCTV camera before 10am on Sunday 3rd September. It would be nice to think that CCTV footage might show who'd put it there.
After 11am on the same morning it had been moved between the two benches, as shown in the photographs. I assume someone wanted to move it where there was no danger of it being shoved into the road and becoming a traffic hazard.

General untidiness of Church St, 30th August
The street has become unkept due to issues such as rubbish being left at front & rear of properties, weeds growing on the path & in gutters and litter/dog mess being left on the floor. The village enters Best Kept Village annually, but surely issues like this don't help when scoring is done.

Railway Rd Adlington Litter Bin, 9th July
I'm sure the team which empties bins has reported this already, because it's been falling to pieces for months, but the old bin just before the railway bridge has crumbled to almost nothing.

Inn the Dog House 20 Church St Adlington, 24th May
Residents of Church Street are concerned that our recycling efforts are being sabotaged by a business. The blue bin at 20 Church Street, trading as Inn the Dog House, is usually overflowing because it includes non-recyclable rubbish such as black bin bags. It is hard to say what is in the bags, though one in the bin today appeared to contain paper. (The bin's lid had blown open, so the contents were visible.)
Could someone from the council please advise the business what it should put in the blue bin so as not to sabotage our recycling efforts? Should a business even have a blue bin from the council? Other businesses in the village seem to use private recycling services.
There was never a problem when number 20 was JR's Ale House. It only started when the business changed hands.

Vehicle part on footpath Market Place, Adlington, 18th May
Spotted this morning when litter picking that side of the street. It's next to the yellow grit box on the Andrew Porter side of Market Place. Too big for us to remove, but we could move it next to a litter bin if that would help?

Workmen have been doing hedge laying this week, and have identified a part of the motorway fence which is in danger of collapsing on the land where there is a very slight fall to a dell - this issue was first identified about 6 months ago and has now got worse.
