The rural area of PE3 is home to the North Level Internal Drainage Board, which oversees the area's drainage and flooding prevention. The area includes a number of nature reserves, such as the Farcet Fen Nature Reserve, located just outside Farcet village, which is home to a variety of wildlife.

The PE3 postcode contains various amenities, including shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, takeaways, banks, dentists, doctors and other local services.
