Elderslie is a village sitting on the east bank of the Cart, bounded by the Gleniffer Braes and the River Gryffe. Johnstone, outside of the postcode, sits just to the north of Elderslie, where The Johnstone Mission Hall and the Nichol Lane Baptist Church are located. Bridge of Weir is a small village located to the south of Elderslie and is considered a part of the area's postcode area. This village is the closest to the River Gryffe and sit on the B788 road.

Kilbarchan lies slightly further east of Elderslie, although it is included in the postcode. It is home to Kilbarchan Primary and Secondary School, which is the oldest educational establishment in the area.

The PA63 postcode is well connected to the rest of the Renfrewshire area via the A726, B786 and B787 roads, providing direct routes to Paisley (with regular bus services operating), Johnstone, Broomhill and Glasgow. The closest railway station is situated at Elderslie, being managed by Abellio Scotrail.
