Renfrew Golf Club and Braehead Shopping Centre are also located within the postcode's boundaries. Many other shops, bars and restaurants can be found in the neighbourhood, as well as leisure and sports facilities.

Education provision is outstanding in PA12. In the immediate vicinity, Paisley Grammar School, Castlehead High School,b and Paisley College are all within walking distance. Primary schools in the area include St Mary's, St James' and King's Croft. All of these institutions perform well in educational league tables.

Although some areas of the postcode are a little run down, most postcode areas are generally well-maintained with a measure of pride in the area evident in the residents. Crime rates in PA12 are relatively low and it is generally a safe and welcoming environment in which to live.
