The nearby towns of Witney and Bicester provide a variety of retail and leisure facilities such as supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres. Along with the excellent transport links to Oxford, this provides further access to the city's amenities.

The area is served by a number of schools, including Yarnton, Standlake, Freeland and Ducklington primaries, as well as Bartholomew secondary school located in Eynsham. The Oxford Academy, located on Sandford Road in Littlemore, is the main secondary school for the OX6 area.

The variety of leisure activities on offer include walking and cycling around the countryside, as well as water sports, fishing and golfing at the Standlake and Yarnton sports clubs. The Oxford Canal also passes through the area, providing opportunities for boating and leisure.

The OX6 postcode provides a pleasant mix of scenery, local amenities, engaging activities, with excellent transport links to major cities nearby. It is a popular choice for those looking for a tranquil rural lifestyle within easy reach of metropolitan areas.
