The area is served by two primary schools—Shipton-on-Cherwell C of E Primary School and Wootton Primary School—while there are also several churches in the local area, such as St John the Evangelist Church in Wootton and St Mary's Church in Shipton-on-Cherwell. There are also a variety of local services, such as a shop, a library, a pub, a post office and a health centre.

Residents of the OX20 postcode can enjoy access to the Oxfordshire countryside and a range of recreational activities, including walking, cycling, and birdwatching. The River Cherwell also runs through the postcode, and provides opportunities for angling. Local airports are also conveniently located in both Oxford and Milton Keynes.
