FIXMYSTREET IN OX15 6DY
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of OX15 6DY:
Heavy rain road flooding going into driveways with three blocked street drains, 23rd April
As a parish councillor, a community resident has reported to me and asked for help with blocked drains on Mills Lane with heavy rain flooding going into driveways. I have looked at three drains, two opposite each other at the top of the lane and one about half way down on the right (which may be primarily responsible for the driveway flooding and may be a culvert) and they do seem completely blocked by soil. This problem was reported in May 2023 but no action was taken as no standing water was evident, no flooding of property was mentioned and emergencies were a priority. It would be very much appreciated if these drains could be inspected, cleaned out as needed and checked they are in order and adequate. I understand OCC Flood Management has some funds available - I do not know if these can be accessed if additional work is required. Thank you for your help and advice.

Large deep pot hole not fixed, 19th April
At noon today this was marked as fixed.
As you can see by the photo it is not fixed, it is not even outlined with red or white paint.
Attached is the previous report showing its number.
I complain most strenuously that this was marked as fixed when it hasn't been.

Shambolic Roadwork Planning, 18th April
Roads are dangerously cut up by relentless utilities works that are causing pot holes and uneven surfaces. Poor planning; allowing multiple roadworks to take place at once, particularly around end of FY when utility companies and council alike are spending the remainder of their budgets.
This is not only shortening the life of the road surfaces it is also seriously disrupting traffic flow and economic output as a result.
We need better planner to combine utility works, avoid them being under roads in future, and to actively measure and improve traffic flow across Banbury.

Potholes now more like craters, 18th April
The potholes on Ironstone Lane which have now been reported several times are STILL waiting to be repaired. There has been no activity from OCC Highways despite reports being lodged on Fix My Street by myself and others over a month ago (ENQ24996963 & ENQ24996963) and OCC changing the status to 'investigating'. The potholes, in particular the ones reported opposite the large oak tree are now very large and cars have to drive on the grass verge to avoid them. See photos attached. There are several other potholes along Ironstone Lane and with the expansion of the Office Park the road is consistently getting more use, so potholes are constantly appearing. The whole stretch could do with carriageway resurfacing but the council has so far refused to do so.

Fixed? You must be joking!, 18th April
How many times does one have to report issues with this stretch of road? I received a notification from the council yesterday to say that ENQ24996511 had been fixed. As you can see from the photographs I have taken this morning, it is far from repaired. I don't know what your highways maintenance teams class as 'fixed' but if this has been 'fixed', I'll eat my hat. Please sort this out properly.

Traffic management vehicles obstruction of footway, 17th April
Yesterday one of these vehicles was parked and I politely asked the driver to move off the footway so a wheelchair user could pass going to the bus stop. Today two ‘chevron vehicles’ are obstructing the footway in Buckhurst Close forcing me and others into the live lane working. Will you please advise the drivers they to stop doing this. If it occurs again I will flag it to the HSE and initiate proceedings for disability discrimination. There is a care home for disabled nearby they are at risk and report vulnerability .

Big pothole where wheel of car passes over, 4th April
Pothole has been here for months and nothing being done. When it rains it fills with water and is then hidden from drivers view. It is on the bend entering the village. Swerving to avoid it puts you on the wrong side of the road round a blind bend. Please fix it urgently. Despite multiple complains nothing is being done to fix it
