A hub for music and theatre, the Playhouse Theatre and the recent addition of the Public Room, North Shields, host live music and comedy from a variety of acts. In addition, Northumberland Park is located just outside the postcode, providing locals with a great place to take a stroll, relax and soak up some of the area's breath-taking natural views.

For commuters, the North Shields Metro station is located at the centre of the postcode, offering direct routes to Newcastle city centre, the port of Newcastle, Gateshead and beyond. In addition, a number of bus routes provide convenient travel for those wishing to explore further afield.
