In terms of transport, the town of Motherwell has a railway station which provides direct trains to Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as services to local destinations. Local bus services are provided by First Glasgow and travel to a variety of local destinations, as well as to Glasgow.

For those who appreciate green spaces, the ML4 district is home to many parks and green spaces, including Calderglen Country Park and the Wishaw Country Park. The area is within easy reach of both the Campsie Fells and the Clyde Walkway, two popular outdoor activities in the area.

The ML4 postcode has a fantastic selection of churches of all denominations, including Catholic, Presbyterian, and non-conformist churches, as well as those of non-religious denominations. The Roman Catholic church is one of the more prominent churches in the area, situated close to the town centre.
