A number of notable features and landmarks exist within the postcode district, such as the British Museum, the Royal Court, and the British Library. Numerous places of worship can also be found in the local area, including the Foundling Hospital Chapel, St Etheldreda's Church and St Sepulchre Church.

Schools in the local area include the Camden School for Girls, St Pancras Parish Church of England Primary School, St George's Catholic Primary School, and Barnard's Inn Primary School, amongst numerous others.

Shopping can be done at Russell Square Shopping Centre, though there are a number of smaller shops and eateries dotted around the postcode area, along with pubs and restaurants.

The local area is home to two parks, Coram's Fields and Russell Square. Coram's Fields is a seven-acre park with a number of play areas, animal enclosures, allotment gardens, sports courts and other attractions. Russell Square is one of the capital's royal parks and contains a garden, monument, fountain and other attractions.

WC1X is a culturally and historically rich postcode area that combines a range of attractions spanning shopping, gastronomy, parks and cultural sites. It is also well and conveniently serviced by London's public transport network, making it an ideal base from which to explore the rest of the capital.
