Within the area there are two tube stations at Russell Square and Holborn. These are located at the boundaries of the postcode and offer easy access to the rest of the city. There are a number of bus services running throughout the area. All of these services are managed by the London Transport Authority.

WC1V is a vibrant and historic residential area with many grand Georgian townhouses and mews. The Lord's Cricket Ground, London Zoo and Regent's Park are all within easy reach. It is a popular area for festivals and street food events and is known for its excellent range of independent, specialty shops and cafés.

The area also has some of the oldest and most beautiful parks and gardens in London. This includes Mecklenburg Square, Coram's Fields, Gordon Square and Bloomsbury Square, and some of the city's oldest tree-lined streets such as Mecklenburg Square and Bedford Square.
