SE3 POSTCODE REGION

London (SE3)

The SE3 postcode area is located in the London postcode town region, within the county of Greater London, and contains a total of 1259 individual postcodes.

There are 6 electoral wards in the SE3 postcode area, including London which come under the local authority of the Greenwich Council.

Combining the whole postcode region, 38% of people in SE3 are classed as having an AB social grade, (i.e. 'white-collar' middle-upper class), compared to 27% across the UK.

This does not mean that the people of SE3 are wealthier - or higher class - than average, but it can be an indication that the area may be prospering and desirable to live in.

SE3 is a postcode used in part of the London Borough of Lewisham. It is a relatively convenient place to live as it is close to many amenities such as shops, parks and transport networks, and has good transport links to the rest of the capital.

The district includes the area of Blackheath, Charlton, Hanover and part of Maze Hill, located in the south east of London. It also covers areas to the east: Kidbrooke, Westcombe Park and Eltham, which are slightly more rural and have a good selection of green spaces.

Blackheath is a popular residential area with many Georgian and Victorian terrace houses, as well as some neat late 20th century developments. It is situated alongside a large heath and parkland area, providing plenty of recreational activities as well as a popular cafe and bar area.

The area is well serviced by transport links; the London Underground Bakerloo and Overground lines stop at both Blackheath and Eltham stations. There are also regular bus services throughout SE3, and a number of Thames Link trains for onward travel outside the postcode. Not to mention the A2 road, which runs down the middle of the district, connecting those living in SE3 with a variety of locations in south east London.

One of SE3's most popular attractions is the historic Royal Arsenal Riverside site in Woolwich. Offering visitors the chance to explore the old sea forts and unearth a wealth of industrial heritage at the many museums, this area has become a great destination for both cultural outings and leisurely strolls along the River Thames.

Furthermore, SE3 is also a great place for families, with excellent schools such as the Invicta Primary School and The John Roan School, as well as plenty of nurseries. There is also a good selection of shops in both Blackheath and Eltham High Street for those looking for convenience, while the open spaces of Greenwich Park provide a wonderful outdoor playground for children and adults alike.

SE3 is a great postcode to live in, offering an array of benefits from its various attractions to its great transport links. With a diverse and communal atmosphere, it is no wonder that the district is becoming increasingly popular with Londoners.
