The area is also known for its public green spaces, with one of the largest parks being Crystal Palace Park which spans over 300 acres and features a lake and leisure activities like an outdoor sports training ground.

The area is also home to a variety of educational establishments such as Kingsdale Foundation School, Sydenham High, Winchcombe School, Sydenham School and Prendergast Ladywell. It is well connected via numerous local bus routes and is served by stations such as Sydenham, Lower Sydenham, Beckenham Hill and Penge West.

The SE26 post code is home to some of London's most historic buildings such as the Horniman Museum which was built in 1901; the Victorian red brick Grade II listed building, Sydenham Hill Sidings; and the Grade II listed swimming pool at Brockley Rise. There are numerous local shops and restaurants to visit, all tucked away in Edwardian buildings with traditional pub gardens.
