Herne Hill is an affluent and vibrant residential area. It retains a village feel, popular with families, young professionals and students alike. With the average property prices sitting around £568,000, it is among the most expensive areas in London, particularly the area around North Dulwich. The area is well connected by public transport, with Herne Hill station offering overground trains to Victoria in under 10 minutes. There is also close access to the capital's main motorways, providing quick routes out of London.

Herne Hill is also home to Brockwell Park Lido, a public outdoor pool, and Brockwell Hall, a grade 2 listed former private residence set in beautiful grounds. It is now host to a regular farmers' market, regular exhibitions and some of London's most popular music festivals.

SE24 additionally has a rich cultural presence. The area is home to The Shadowrooms, an independent theatre and creative space. It is also home to a number of iconic buildings including The Roebuck pub and the Ruskin Park Pavilion, designed by notable Edwardian architect E.W. Robson. Meanwhile, the area around Brockwell Park is known for its sculptures, ruins, and other works of art.

Making up the SE24 postcode is an eclectic range of housing, ranging from 19th century terraces, Victorian villas and modern apartment complexes. As well as a vibrant café culture, strong sense of community and good transport links, SE24 is a diverse mix of residents, cultures and backgrounds, including many from Caribbean, African and Eastern European backgrounds. It is a great place to live for those looking to enjoy the vibrancy of London, while still being able to call Herne Hill home.
