Elephant and Castle is considered to be the 'hub' of SE17, with it being the intersection of the A2, A3 and the A201 roads. It is well-connected to the London Underground, with two Tube stations located within the postcode district: Elephant and Castle station (Northern and Bakerloo lines) and Kennington station (Northern line).

Furthermore, London's South Bank is just across the river from SE17, with pedestrian bridges and waterbus services allowing easy access.
The nightlife of SE17 is vibrant and multifarious, ranging from traditional pubs to modern cocktail bars and craft beer spots. Walworth is also host to the largest theatre in Southwark, the Walworth Academy, as well as some interesting historical buildings, such as St Mary Newington Church.
SE17 pays homage to its history with many of its locals businesses having a strong connection to the neighbourhood, with some of them being family owned for generations. As with many postcodes surrounding London, SE17 has experienced gentrification in some parts as property prices in the area have increased in recent years.

The Redesign is Underway
Well, the current website was absolutely in dire need of a good redesign - from the ground up. So I set out to pull it all apart and get it up and running again to become the most comprehensive guide to every postcode in the UK.
