SE14 is a postcode district in London covering part of the London Borough of Lewisham, principally the areas of New Cross and Deptford. The SE14 postcode encompasses the entire Old Kent Road area and stretches along the western part of Deptford High Street. It includes the Deptford Park conservation area, which is recognised for its range of tall terraced houses dating from the 1830s, as well as other sections of Deptford Town Centre.

New Cross is the major residential area in the SE14 postcode. The area consists of mainly terraced housing, built in the 19th century, such as attractive Edwardian-style houses and flat conversions in long turn-of-the-century streets. There is a selection of attractive new build apartments in the area too, for any looking for a modern option to rent. New Cross is known for its lively cultural scene, especially where music evens are concerned.

Deptford is the other area in the SE14 postcode, containing various streets and buildings dating from the 16th century and earlier. The area has a diverse range of housing and architectural styles, ranging from large family homes to Victorian terraces. There are also a number of modern developments in the area, making it a great choice for younger buyers. Deptford High Street has been a focus for re-developments in recent years and now has an array of popular coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

SE14 is also home to a range of places of historical interest, such as Deptford Dockyard, the place where Royal Navy ships were built since the 16th century. Art lovers should visit the Thames Tunnel Buildings, a Grade II* listed structure which was the first completed underwater tunnel in the world. And those with an interest in literature should make the most of Charlton House, a Jacobean-style manor house built in the 17th century by writer Andrew Marvell, a contemporary of John Milton.

The SE14 postcode is well-connected for commuters, with New Cross Gate providing the main access point to London Underground services on the London Overground. It is also served by numerous bus and rail services from both New Cross and Deptford railway stations, while there are good road links as well. Lastly, SE14 is an upcoming area for price appreciation, featuring a 9.98% average property price increase last year - which is higher than the London average.
