The population of N18 is largely from a mix of ethnic backgrounds, with Whites being the largest group in the area. It hosts many festivals and cultural activities throughout the year, such as the Edmonton Festival and the Winchmore Hill Festival. There are also a number of churches, mosques and synagogues in the area, such as the St Thomas Church, Edmonton Islamic Community Centre and the Stepneh Synagogue.

Crime rates in N18 are considered to be quite low, with it being a popular residential area for Londoners. In terms of healthcare, the area is home to a number of GP surgeries, hospitals and health centres, such as the North Middlesex Hospital, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the Chase Farm Hospital.
