The LL16 postcode covers the rural area on the outskirts of Llangollen, a town in the north of Wales. It includes the historic centre of the town, and the villages of Berwyn, Corwen, Glyndyfrdwy, Glyn Ceriog, Llandrillo, Llantysilio, Llidiartywaen, and Trefonen. The landscape is fairly hilly and rural, with some areas of woodland.

The postcode is home to the Llangollen Railway, which runs along the Dee Valley and is one of the UK's premier heritage railways. The line was once part of the standard railway line connecting Ruabon to Barmouth, although today it only operates from Llangollen to Carrog. Here, visitors can take a trip through the Vale of Llangollen on a steam train, and visit the nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, one of the World Heritage protected sites.

The area is also known for its beautiful walkways, with the Llangollen Canal Walk being one of the most popular attractions. Starting in the centre of Llangollen, the walk takes in the wooded gorge of the River Dee and the canal. The walk follows the canal for around 9 miles, ending at the Chirk Aqueduct, the highest canal aqueduct in Britain.

The LL16 postcode area is mainly rural, and home to a diverse range of wildlife. The area contains forests, grasslands, meadows and numerous bird species, with the Red Kite being one of the most popular birds of prey to spot. There is also an abundance of wild flowers, with Bluebells, Campion and Vetch being particularly common.

Sports are popular in the Ll16 postcode area, with a number of rugby and football clubs based in the area. In addition, the local Eisteddfod is the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and this attracts performers and spectators from all over. Llangollen also plays host to the International Musical Eisteddfod which takes place every year in July.
