L26 is a postcode district situated in the Liverpool area of North West England, encompassing the places Childwall, Gateacre, Woolton, Belle Vale, Hale, Halewood, Huyton, Knotty Ash, Roby and West Derby. Covering an area of 9.12 square miles, it has a population of 38,523 according to the 2011 census.

Previously within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire, the postcode district is now located in the county of Merseyside.

The main centre of the district is the Woolton area of south Liverpool which has a variety of green spaces, shops, places of worship, pubs, cafes and restaurants. It is home to a number of independent businesses offering goods such as arts and crafts, antiques, books, as well as hairdressers and beauty salons. The famous Strawberry Field, which was once visited by The Beatles, is located in the area. There are several local parks, including Speke Hall, Gateacre Park, and the Meadow Vale Park.

Roby and Huyton are also within the postcode district and are mainly residential districts. Huyton is home to the 'Dreamscape' works, a huge public art project designed by artist Joash Woodrow which incorporates luminous lighting designs.

The postcode district of L26 has easy access to road, rail and bus links, with Junction6 of the M62 Motorway running through the area, linking North West and Leeds. Also close by is Liverpool John Lennon Airport, providing connections to cities in the UK and Europe.

L26 also has a range of sporting and recreational facilities including a number of golf courses, football pitches and local sports teams, such as Hale and Huyton Cricket Club who play at the Southport and Birkdale Sports Club in Roby.

A wide array of education facilities are also available, from nursery and primary schools to Benmore, which is a specialist college for children and young people with severe and complex learning disabilities.

Poets, artists and bands of L26 have also had a great influence in the culture of the district. Liverpool poet Roger McGough grew up in the area, and one of the most famous groups to come out of L26 were Frankie Goes to Hollywood, who were formed in the area in 1980.
