Education in the area is provided by schools including Sacred Heart Catholic Primary and High, St Patrick's Catholic Primary and Maryport of England Primary School. Higher education can be accessed at nearby John Moores University in Liverpool.

Notable landmarks in the area include Northway Civil Parish, Waterloo Road Police Station and Little Crosby red telephone box.

The area is home to a range of wildlife, including the ubiquitous Redshank bird, piping plover and pied wagtail. The nearby intertidal mud flats of Mersey Estuary are also a haven for various waterfowl.

I am not from the area I got a bad review. But now I live here i think it is a nice quiet clean area and I love it I'm glad I moved near with my 4 year old daughter and she has made loads of friends from her local school which is great. I love it i haven't got any bad reviews of the area.
