Hello, we need a speed camera at the bottom of Colchester road but before the traffic lights. Too many large Lorries and trucks and cars speed down the road. When large trucks are speeding down the road it causes all our houses to vibrate. We are all fed up. I am writing this on behalf of the residents of Colchester road. Please do something about this.

Verge not maintained, 21st March

Thu, 21 Mar 2024 06:52:47 +0000
52.636434 -1.070175

The local authority managed grass verge has tree branches left on there for a number of months from when trees have been trimmed by the local authority. Also the tarmacadam area of the verge is prone to flooding as it extremely uneven. I would respectfully request that the branches are cleared away as they are unsightly aswell as being a possible nesting site for vermin. Secondo would like that Highways or whomever maintains the verges contacts the homeowner at 417 Uppingham Road to discuss the renovation of the tarmacadam area as this leads to a private driveway.

Degradation of Road Markings, 15th March

Fri, 15 Mar 2024 13:05:13 +0000
52.627756 -1.10629

Concern Regarding Ineffective Road Markings for Community Safety. I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding certain road markings within our community that I believe are not contributing effectively to public safety. Upon recent observation, I have noticed four specific road markings on Rowsley Street that appear to be inadequate and potentially even detrimental to the safety of pedestrians and motorists alike. These markings double yellow lines and give way markings are faded and unclear lane dividers. As a member of this community, I am deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors. It is my belief that these markings may be causing confusion and increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. I kindly request that the relevant authorities conduct a thorough assessment of these road markings and consider implementing corrective measures as deemed necessary. Clear and visible markings are essential for guiding traffic flow and ensuring pedestrian safety, particularly in busy areas such as Rowsley Street. I would greatly appreciate your attention to this matter and any steps you can take to address it promptly.Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

House Shakes/Vibrates, 15th March

Fri, 15 Mar 2024 06:53:55 +0000
52.638036 -1.066679

I have recently moved to this property and been noticing that the house tends to shake/vibrate each time a vehicle pass by the humps near the bus stop. My first guess was to be the water flow underneath but then I noticed it was happening only when the vehicles pass the humps.

Rocks damaging my car, 8th March

Fri, 08 Mar 2024 18:22:16 +0000
52.630674 -1.062214

These rocks have been placed on the grass verge for over a year and the rock on the left has been placed significantly closer to my side of the property. We have cars with low bumpers and every time, we try to reverse and come out of the driveway, the splitter and bumper gets trapped and damages our car , and impeded our safety. Everytime, we try to move it towards the centre to make it symmetrical to the rock on the far right hand side, someone puts it back to our side to deliberately cause harm to our cars. We paid over a grand to the council to get a dropped kerb , not to experience this every day stress in the morning. Moreover, this is a private road, no other houses have rocks placed outside. I would like an explanation of why is this kind of act is allowed? Will the council pay for our damages?

Road Marking Degradation, 26th February

Mon, 26 Feb 2024 14:49:35 +0000
52.627043 -1.106875

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding the faded road markings along Rowsley Street. As a resident of this area, I have observed that the current condition of the road markings poses a potential hazard to highway users. The faded markings make it challenging for drivers and pedestrians to make accurate and timely decisions, leading to a less safe environment for all road users. This issue is particularly concerning as it may contribute to an increased risk of accidents and confusion on the road. I kindly request that the council considers addressing this matter promptly by undertaking the necessary measures to refresh and maintain the road markings This action would greatly contribute to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I am confident that the council will take the appropriate steps to address the faded road markings promptly.

52.626572 -1.107197

Again logged for reference should an inquest happen when pedestrian is injured or worse, due to lack of enforcement from LCC. We are disappointed that nothing is being done, every evening and weekend this issue occurs, cars parking on double yellow lines reckless behaviour not only ignores traffic restrictions but also poses a serious threat to pedestrians due to reduced visibility and hampers the view for other road users at junctions. It is concerning that this issue continues without any apparent action being taken. Urgent measures are needed to address this ongoing safety hazard.
