Other places within LG26 include Whitkirk, Allerton Bywater, Woodlesford, Mickletown and Great Preston. There are many green spaces and parks in LS26 that are regularly enjoyed by locals, such as Elland Wood, Apperley Bridge Mills and Swillington Farms. The Leeds-Liverpool Canal runs through the area with plenty of towpaths, ideal for walks and bike rides.

LS26 schools include special education schools, a college, a sixth form college and a variety of primary and secondary schools. Public transport is plentiful with regular buses travelling in and around LS26 and the surrounding areas, as well as a train station located in Garforth.

The postcode has close proximity to local tourist attractions such as the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds Grand Theatre, Leeds Corn Exchange and several shops, restaurants, wine bars, pubs, clubs and other leisure venues. Furthermore, the region is easily accessible from the M1 and M62 motorways.
