The area covers some of the administrative civic wards of Armley, Farnley & Wortley, Bramley & Stanningley, Pudsey and Farsley & Calverley, and includes the suburbs of Armley, Bramley, Pudsey, Stanningley, Stanningley Bank Top, Farnley, Farsley, Calverley and Laisterdyke.

The region includes both residential and commercial areas, such as ring roads, industrial estates, housing estates and retail centres. The area is served by bus and rail services, the latter provided by the Leeds to Bradford railway line, with a number of stations located around the postcode district.

The main shopping street in LS13 is Pudsey's town centre, which is centre for the residents of Bramley, Stanningley, Pudsey and its environs. The district also contains Bramley Shopping Centre, Armley Shopping Centre and Farnley Shopping Centre, as well as a number of supermarkets, chain and independent shops, banks, estate agents and takeaways.

The district is home to a number of green spaces, with Pudsey Park and Buckingham Park among the largest. It is also home to a number of housing developments of varying sizes, ranging from single accommodation units to larger blocks of one to five bedroom apartments and large family homes.

LS13 includes the recently built leisure centre, which features a gym, pool, sports complex, dry ski slope and bowling alley. The Bramley Elderly Action Centre is also located in the area, providing activities and assistance to elderly people living in the district.

In terms of education, the area is home to several primary and secondary schools, including the Pudsey Grangefield School, Bramley St Peter's C of E Primary School, Farnley Park Primary and Bramley St Matthews C of E Primary School. There is also a special needs school and day centre located in the area.
