Epsom is the location of the renowned Epsom Downs Racecourse and is the home of the Epsom Derby, the world-famous horse racing event which first took place in 1780. Epsom also houses a number of other attractions including The Swan Centre, Derby Mavericks Soft Play Centre and Epsom Odeon Cinema.

As a largely affluent area, KT18 offers a variety of desirable housing and boasts a number of stunning residential areas (particularly within the leafier suburban villages). Properties can vary from Victorian cottages and terraces to large modern family homes, with a significant portion of KT18 housing consisting of very expensive apartment blocks and detached houses.

Educationally, KT18 benefits from a number of highly regarded schools, both state and private. Among notable state schools are Glyn Technology School, Rosebery School, and St Peter's Catholic School; while private education is catered for by Epsom College, Rosebery School and Epsom College (Girls).

KT18 has excellent public bus and train transport providing links to both central London and suburban commuter towns. Services are run by the South West Train Company that serves Epsom and its surrounding towns. Epsom Station hits central London stations, including Waterloo, the Southbank and Marylebone in 60 - 75 minutes. It also connects with suburban towns in Surrey via a number of train services.
